GYR Veterans Mental Health Safety Screening Tool DEMO
The GYR Veterans Mental Health Safety Screening Tool Demo (the "Demo") is presented as-is, with no provided or implied warranty of accuracy. The Demo is for educational purposes only. Nothing on this site or related to this Demo is intended to convey a treatment, diagnosis, prevention or recommendation for any disease or health condition. Readers are encouraged to discuss their individual situations and needs with their healthcare practitioner.
The GYR Veterans Health Safety Screening tool is a web-based utility that can be used by non-expert mental health service providers, e.g., primary care physicians, non-profit VA partners, and other similar practitioners, to quickly assess a veteran's suicide risk. Assessments take approximately 15-minutes; the majority of which is allocated to the completion of the survey by the client/patient. The TALUS AI model, operating at the backend, estimates one of 3 different states.
Green means no mental health clinical referral is required.
Yellow means a mental health clinical referral is recommended.
Red means that an urgent mental health clinical assessment should be pursued, inclusive of contacting the 988 emergency hot line.
Our aim is to reduce the number of suicide deaths among military veterans. Our hope is that the tool serves as an efficient, easy to use early screening resource, to identify those who are most at risk of attempting suicide.
